How it all started,

A little over two years ago, I attended a personal development event through the company I purchase my ketone products from. During that event, one speaker really stood out to me, Joseph McClendon III, and here’s the part of his speech that has stayed in the back of my mind since that event, “Working on changing our thoughts, changes our beliefs, which changes how we feel, which changes how we show up and live out our life.

At the end of his speech he focused on the importance of how we talk to ourselves and the power of using “I AM” statements daily. I remember screaming in a large crowd of people “I AM” statements and my whole body getting chills and just being consumed by this feeling of power in the meaning of those words and in myself. I left that event with a whole new approach to how I was going to show up for myself daily, because the reality was up until that event I was the QUEEN of letting other peoples opinions of me dictate how I showed up and ultimately how I viewed myself. However, I was ready to make a change and start letting my light shine in its own unique way, the way God intended it to.

My daughter was 2 at this time and I remember returning home from that event and immediately sharing with her these “I AM” statements and putting them into practice with her.

Since that day, looking in the mirror or holding hands and saying them together has become a daily routine with Rosalie. Over the years she has got to the point where all I have to do is say, “I AM” and she fills in the rest of the sentence with words that she knows to be true about herself. It has been such a powerful self care practice for the both of us and something I very much look forward to each day and will continue to encourage her to do as she grows up.

In the last few months, my daughter now being 4, I have become very aware of how important conversation is with her. And I am not talking about small talk conversation, no, I am talking about deep, meaningful conversations (even at her young age) that help me get to know her as well as her get to know me on a deeper level. Conversations that dive into feelings and emotions and what they mean or why we feel them. Conversations about things we love and aren’t so fond of. Conversations about having passions for certain things and what we can do with that; teach others about them or explore other activities or subjects related to it.

These two powerful things; CONVERSATION + “I AM” statements is where this new idea for kids cards had entered my mind and heart and which leads me to where I am today. It brings me so much joy & excitement to being able to provide you with a tool that helps you start implementing those conversations with your kids and putting into practice the power of “I AM” statements in your household too.

The vision and goal behind creating these cards

is to spark meaningful conversations between kids and adults, create opportunities to ask questions, practice and establish routines of daily self love, self care and awareness to the importance & power of affirmations.
